Adnoc Final Day Weekend Sale

The turnout couldn't be better; 1 Citreon Xantia 1.8 wagon, 2 Kelisas, 1 Myvi, 1 Nissan Frontier (came back for the 2nd OCI), 2 Iswaras, 1 Putra, 1 Perdana (Mivec transplanted), 1 Peugeot 406...

Those who did the engine flush + grounding kit (except the Frontier and Peugeot), again had positive remarks on the lightness and more responsiveness from their engine after the entire process and mentioned that it was worth the money spent...

Thus, we would like to thank all those who had taken their time off on a precious Sunday (which is supposingly to be a rest day) to sweat out with us....

But seeing all the car owners leaving with a smile on their face makes it a fruitful and memorable day again....

one feedback from yesterdays' car owners:

by forfunonly (ride: Citreon Xantia 1.8 wagon)
today and the engine feels quieter, more powerful, much much lighter.. Also have since a week ago changed to Petronas Primax 3, and all is so smooth, At the Adnoc Engine service day in Kepong, this morning, no additive or engine flush was used. Rather, the Adnoc mineral oil was used to flush the old deposits. After 3 flushes of 4.5 liters each, topped up with Adnoc semi Syn 10/40, the car feels almost new again.
cont-
the following took place:
1) 3 Flushes of approx 4.5 litres of 20w50 Adnoc mineral = 13.5litres + oil filter RM30/4litre bottle x 4 bottles = RM120) each flushing took about 15 minutes.
2) 4.3 litres of semi-syn Adnoc 10w40 + oil filter + labour + free grounding kit + goody bag worth MYR20 (all for RM120)
At the end of this, they inspected to check for any leakages, and thankfuly there was none.
Total costs RM240.
No additive or engine flushes were used as the guys at Adnoc did not recommend as
1. possibility of oil seals damaged due to this
2. the Adnoc Mineral 20w50 has detergent properties that is able to clear old deposits, etc.
The first drainage was very thick and black, even though I serviced my car a month ago. The finished product of the 3rd flush was clear as the drained mineral oil was still new and if you asked me, I could drive away with it, without having to change to the semi-syn. Now, I hardly need to rev my car to accelerate, the engine feels so light and for MR240 this was well worth it. I will keep you guys updated after 1 week's driving.....

OK...my turn to review....
Visited Adnoc Sale on Sunday, arrived there around 1pm.... Met Nelson (sorry ar...didn't recognise you lar)...met up wiramod, alan, meiq, adnoc and the rest....
Alan briefly explained on the flushing, adnoc oil and stuff... Started work around 1.30pm, poured all the old mineral oil out....damn black like guinness and Alan commented that the oil got bubbles... ....not good. Oil all out and 1st flushing begins (20 minutes wait).....once complete, the oil is a bit clearer..... so, Alan proceeds for 2nd flush (15 minutes wait)...once complete, the oil resembles a 1972 Cabernat Sauvignon Wine...hahaha... 3rd Flush...and the oil is pure red....DONE!!!
Poured in Adnoc Pearl 10w/30....
Next, flush out the Gear Oil....and WTF!! Alan showed me that the oil contains little bits of metal...which is normal....??
So, after having a tough time to open the bolt and seeing Alan sweating all over, GB Oil replaced....DONE....Time..4pm...and my MPSL is getting sleepy and restless due to the heat....hehehe

OK, the best part of all.....driving the car after the treatment... Took the car straight out to NKVE....Accelerated like normal....and the RPM is climbing steadily to 5K on Gear 4....engine quiet....half way thru the pedal and MPSL sleeping... hehehe.... Changed to Gear 5...climbing to 160km/h...MPSL still sleeping... pressing down more....and the fun starts.... touching 160km/h liao...then MPSL tiba tiba woke up and .....too bad.... Most importantly, I felt that the engine response now is alot better than before.... lighter...accelerates damn steady and fast....damn quiet when idling...
NO REGRETS!!!! A RECOMMENDED PRODUCT!!!

Eventually I will keep updating on feedbacks on the engine flushing + grounding kit process periodically... In the mean time for those who missed this event and are keen to know more, please do not hesitate to contact me so that we can arrange another session of this event at a place of your convenience....

Warranty issues

I got a reply from one of my friends with regards to the engine flushing, the remark is as follow:

"I was just replying to your email and commenting on the feedback by the bloggers on your blogsite - particularly, some car manufacturers void warranties if third parties touch the engine during the period of warranty..."

Lots of NEW CAR OWNERS are worried about the issues of void warranties because of third parties servicing their cars. The fact is, besides the warranty concern, have any one car owners who knows about the cars, feel that the authorised service centers render a good service? Or ppl are just sending in their cars because the schedule or maintenance record says so...?
Yes, warranty is an issue for new car owners, but certain non-authorised service centre qualified mechanics sometimes do wonders and comes out with innovative an creative ways to restore and maintain the car's performance at a much lower cost. However, I cannot speak in general for everyone. I am only posting remarks by owners who wants more for their cars and at a value-for-RM cost...
Ultimately, the decision to send their cars to or not to authorised service centres depends on the needs, priorities and criterias of the car owners..

‘Cheaper’ engine oil damages six taxi engines

Just for your information... Excerpt from: http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2006/6/19/nation/14580917&sec=nation

KOSMO! has warned motorists not to buy engine oil which is suspiciously cheaper than the market price.

It said that at least six taxi drivers had to have their engines repaired after using the oil.

They claimed that they had bought the cheap engine oil from a spare-parts shop in Gombak. They said the oil “smelled like strawberries.”

The shop owner told them that the oil was genuine.

The taxi drivers said that their mechanics later told them that the oil they had used was the cause of the problem.

The oil had formed into a rubbery black “dodol-like” substance in the engine oil pans.

The drivers said they did not suspect anything as the oil's packaging looked genuine.

WHAT CAR OWNERS SAY AFTER THE ENGINE FLUSH....

We have tirelessly done 3 weekends of the Adnoc weekend sale and so far the results and feedback from those who have undergone the package process went back with a smile and mentioned it was worth spending the money as it gave immediate response... YES IMMEDIATE REPSONSE is the GIST here ...

some feedback from ppl who have undergone the package process:

by elaine2284 (ride; kancil)
just started to pour in adnoc lub 10w/30 mineral on last saturday.. The result... was impressed and 100% satisfaction... tumbs up even the quality of mineral can beat semi synt of other brands... went uphill will the gang for tear and wear test... can instantly feel the smoothness & reliability!!!! even at cruising speed.. my engine is much much quiet than previous and NO MORE JERKING!!!!! wat i can say is... totally IMPRESSED!!! on sunday i went to changed the gearbox oil and went up GS for tear and wear test... WOW!! im able to change the gear much more smoother and faster!!!! well... this is my personal experience with this brand.... overall.. the rpm hits faster.. acceleration more smoother..... change gear more faster.... AND save FC TOO!!! no woh... the FC getting lower.... coz i love the feeling on cruising..... quiet and smooth........... on monday morning i pump in RM 20... till now my fuel still got alot more to go...

by windz (ride; mazda, turbo charged)
product was good.. elaine jie jiee not that i dun wanna give feedback... a few days wont get to feel or see anything wan .. but from current observation im impressed by the oil. basically its smooth and light, which can be feel after da engine flush and oil replacement. after tat im suprise after a long rev to KLIA at 1PM in the middle of the hot sun the car didnt get overheat, in fact the temperature didnt even get effected. n da engine is a lot more quiet comparing before and after the oil change.

by nicholas (ride; other half's vios)
Mrs President today did her engine flush.. guessed what... it feels good after the flush.. engine appears to be smoother and also more powerful... i dun know much cos this is her feedback...
i never know of flushing until beemer explained to me... hahaha.. i guess COMIT need to do it next week..afterall.. it's time to change..
regardless of what oil u guys are using... i suggest u guys to flush..it makes the difference...

by donut
After flushed and change the adnoc oil ...my car feel lighter ,fast respond and smooth especially when in high rev it have been a lot difference than before...
I can feel have some kick when i reach 5k rpm ,everyday i also have that feel because everyday i will reach more than 5k rpm in the morning....but the fc still can ok lah..... the engine also more quiet than before , and the gear oso smooth ...
my other 2 fren also say their car have the good respond and smooth especialy the mivec user...
Thanks to all the SIFU at the adnoc warehouse sale .....THANK YOU...

by MeiQ (ride; kelisa)
for me cant really give detail feedback yet, need to test it out when i driving alone (cos used to drive alone)
istant respond:
1) faster respond (rpm climb faster), normally i drive less than 3k or about 3k rpm will change gear liao, but now rev above 3k
2) Bad FC, rev more compare to last time.
3) will monitor on pickup.

by zendened (ride; honda city)
anyways.. heres my feedback
quietness is almost the same cos the engine still new but the bonus comes when revving.. its even easier to rev the car now and its smooth coupled that with the gb, the car feels like gliding at times

by sakuragi (ride; proton)
hm...my turn... engine feels light bit & better response...(for those ppls who dunno much about car may feel no different) bout FC...still monitoring... 1 thing i can gurantee...engine cleaner...u can see it urself...

by wiramod11 (ride; proton)
well... now me... ahhahah.. been using this oil around starting of may until now...
travelling around so far for 2K km city driving.. + 1K km highway driving....
To my surprised..when i check the oil at my dip stick.. the oil still in good condition.. which totally surprise me.. as i've been using oil like shell/petronas/castrol/mobil/RP and non of this oil was like this adnoc oil.
as usual .. this oil makes the engine much-much quiet, more responsive, RPM climb up much easier and faster..(damn now have to be really control it before my fc getting high hahahha)... so to me .. i would definately going to keep using adnoc oil...
1st the way the oil working in my engine - (which advantage is been spell out up here)
2nd the value for money..
3rd recommended to everyone...

by jellyikan
flushed my engine too, i believed he did some extras during the flushing because he is giving full attention to the only car, which is my car, and thanks for that extras! didn't manage to flush my gearbox oil as canken & beemer seem to argue which nut to open, this and that, hehehehe......
the car has been flushed 3 times and the oil becomes translucent red on 3rd round. I still manage to get the semi-syn package from him even its not a weekend sale.
not forgetting to thank alanltl & canken for the installations, tidyings and the servicings too.
FR: speechless ..... the car felt a lot quieter, and i mean A LOT MORE quiet when driving. for those who sit in my car before they will know that my engine was overly louder than any Wiras. throttle wise, during normal driving, the engine seems to rev a bit willingly only as i felt the pedal is a just bit ligther only. but when you full throttle it, especially in the high-rpm range, it makes hell a lot of difference . its still very willingly to rev even in the 4th gear as compared previously and that puts my engine kinda sound like a sissy when in high rev, cos of smoother rev and quieter engine.... definately not a bad thing, i like it

by williamclw:
i like the feeling of the car when rev above 4k... hehehehe

by kisumi:
Hehehe, I just did my engine flush on Thursday. It was nice, my ride is much smoother than before. Increase the enjoyment of driving around.

by nelsonlye:
Let's start from me. What I did is....
Adnoc Pearl Semi Sync - 10/W30.... with 2nd new oil Filter.
Package with Votech 6 Points Grouding Cable.....
First feeling, the rev...are lighter...car is more quiet & more respond.......
Especially from 1500rpm...to 4000rpm....very smooth and respond......
And my Engine Really become very very quiet.........

by canken:
i have tried more expensive and high performance oil, ultimately I want value for money and good quality oil so ADNOC will be my next fill.
Have used the Adnoc semi-sythn before, keeps engine clean and smooth.
When I drain out did anengine flush too, only need 2 cycles to get it clean, 2nd flush oil drain good as new. " Normal" engines using popualr brand oil engines need at least 3 flushes to get it clean.
even my mom's Kelisa feels smoother during start up, (those who drive kelisa knows how harsh it sounds when you crank it up in the morning.) i fetched a guy that drives a kelisa too after the oil service, was amazed with the pickup in my mom's car, he say like got turbo! try it to believe it!

by hillroad:
try change the GP gear oil...found that the gear can insert more smoothly and no gear box sound... good !!!

these are only some feedback from forumers in car clubs, there are more who are not online....

thus there's only so much I can do, the rest I will have to depend on Adnoc lubes and the smiles and the satisfied look on the car owners face after the whole process... that says a million words....

so conclusion is : A THOROUGHLY CLEANED AND FLUSHED ENGINE COUPLED WITH THE RIGHT WEIGHTED QUALITY ENGINE OIL, PLUS A 6 POINTS GROUNDING KIT AND VOLTAGE STABILISERS, DOES WONDERS FOR THE CAR... IMMEDIATELY... AND THIS FLUSHING PROCESS IS ONLY DONE ONCE OR TWICE A YEAR... SO A WELL MAINTAINED AND TUNED ENGINE SAVES YOU MONEY IN THE LONG RUN WITH REDUCED FUEL CONSUMPTION, WHILE RESTORING THE ENGINE BACK TO ITS MAXIMUM PEAK PERFORMANCE AND THE EXCITING PART IS IMMEDIATE RESULTS ARE FELT AND ACHIEVED.... WITHOUT THE NEED FOR EXPENSIVE MODIFICATION..... AND ALL THIS IS ACHIEVABLE IN JUST WITHIN AN HOUR....

AND BEST OF ALL, THIS IS THE MOST BASIC OF ALL ENGINE MAINTENANCE.... THAT MANY CAR OWNERS OVERLOOK....

How to economise fuel consumption...

Some view this blog as an advertising channel, others viewed it as informative... thus how one perceives this blog is entirely up to the individual's mind set and mentality... Please do so at your own discretion....

My intentions are purely to share the knowledge that we have found and ensure that all car owners pay for what it's worth, value for money, no more, no less.... please also bear in mind that there's a cost to everything, even if one DIY, you still need money to buy the parts...

Almost everyone owns a car..

so what makes car A different from car B...?
eventually it still gets you from point A to point B....

why are there so many people having their cars broken down in the middle of the road...?
because of poorly maintained cars...

how to avoid breakdowns....?
have the car diligently maintained, use quality lubricants and parts (imitation and recycled parts are quite rampant now, due to the poor economy, thus exercise discretion), send to respected and trustworthy workshops...

Why is engine oil important....?
It is the most basic and yet the most important lifeline for the car engine... sud a quality lubricant be used and changed at recommended mileage intervals, then the only thing to worry is wear and tear parts... lately as many people are very concern over the fuel price increase, using quality and suitable SAE rated lubes is one sure way of combating fuel consumption... nothing else beats a well maintained and properly tuned car...

A few other ways of combating the fuel price increase are:

1) DRIVING HABITS:
a) Practice a light right foot on the accelerator pedal is advised
b) Avoid sudden acceleration and braking at all times
c) Upshift to a higher gear as soon as possible (for manual cars)

2) UNNECESSARY WEIGHT
a) Do not carry unnecessary weights in the car, unload all unwanted items from the car

3) TYRE PRESSURE
a) Check tyre pressure to avoid under inflation as this contributes to higher rolling resistance and increase in fuel consumption
b) Ensure that the tyre pressure is at its ideal pressure, check the car manual for psi references.

4) PLAN YOUR JOURNEY
a) If possible, plan your journeys ahead to avoid traffic jams
b) Use the vehicle only when necessary, avoid short trips, if within walking distance, walk instead of using the car
c) If you do shopping, ensure that all the necessary items are purchased all at once to avoid going to the shopping centre again.
d) Avoid start/ stop vehicle usage

5) TRAVELLING SPEED
a) Maintain a constant travelling speed (ideally at 90km/h) at the highest gear possible, as when the car is travelling at the ideal speed, momentum actually moves the car forward, thus this minimses the need to accelerate more
b) anything faster than 90km/h, will increase petrol consumption because as the car travels faster, the wind resistance and drag will be higher, therefore the car needs the extra push forward to counter the wind drag...

6) USAGE OF SUITABLE SAE RATED ENGINE OIL
a) Using a suitable SAE rated engine oil not only saves you petrol but also engine repair bills
b) By checking the car manual booklet, you will find that there will be a recommended minimum oil viscosity rating that the car is able to use, newer cars requires lower viscosity grade oil such as xW/30. This is in line with petrol savings feature as lower viscosity oils are thinner and requires lesser pressure to pump and because if its low viscosity, the internal engine parts moves with lesser drag and resistance, thus all these will cummulate to a lighter, more responsive and fuel economy engine
